Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in board games! Find out how they play and what is good enough to "Leave it on the Table"

Gem Rush - Review

Gem Rush - Review

On the recommendation of Zee Garcia from The Dice Tower, I bought "Gem Rush" from Victory Point Games.

In Gem Rush, you play as Dwarfs collecting previous gems from a mine. You must explore the mine to find more gems which are required to further explore  new tiles. Each doorway out of a room requires a certain amount of gems to add a new tile to it and has its own special abilities which can be used if you end your turn there.

Furthermore, adding tiles to doorways is how the players earn victory points.  In competitive mode, the first player to earn 20 points wins the game.  However, in co-op or SOLO modes, the player(s) must earn a certain value of victory points before the mine is destroyed by lava.  In co-op/solo mode, players must burn 2 gem cards each turn.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed playing Gem Rush co-op.  Now to play it SOLO.  When I asked my wife what she thought of Gem Rush, she said,

"Leave It On the Table!!"
